Which would you rather do, walk or drive to Arizona? Drive, I know of course right? How senseless would it be to walk when the means of necessary transportation has already been provided? It is essentially the same analogy when applied to the spirit. When we try to get to places, i.e. our destiny, or do the things that God has designed for us to do in our own strength; we are in essences taking the walking option.
The Holy Spirit supplies the vehicle necessary, wherein we are able to just come along for the ride. When you try to do things in your own strength, you will soon realize that you are not only limited by what you can do, but stipulations are set on how long your carnal works would last when you attempt to do them. Luk 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Discouragement and the lack of insight only tempts a man to look back. The job description that God provides is too large for this fleshly nature to qualify for. Only those that know Him and practice His Word daily qualify. Why? Because the Work of the Kingdom is not a carnal work, but a work that is spiritual.
The flesh is very limited to God-like perception and truths. It rebels instead of submits to the will of God. Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. It is the foolish man that thinks that his own righteousness is the reason and cause of why he is as successful as he is. It is a set up for a down fall to think that our will can sustain us. If we depend on our strength alone, how limited are we in doing work of God, very limited.
If we could accomplish everything in our own strength, then why do we need God and His Holy Spirit? Essentially this is the choice that we often make when we attempt to do things on our own. We have to remember that we are on God's terms and He not on ours. Therefore, if we are to be successful in this walk with God, the way to success is total submission to God and His truth. Men praise the works and miracles of men, but the secret in the power that is accomplished through great men of God is as a result of submission and obedience. Notice how Jesus always retired to pray after each work. If He knew that submission to God was and still is important, how much we? When you are totally submitted to the strength of God, pride and arrogance will have no room to come in, no matter how much humanity attempt to exalt you.
It is always for the Father's glory. Notice what the Bible says: Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. This life was never meant to be lived with you nor I being the pilot, but the co-pilot in that we are to rely totally on the Pilot to give us instructions on what direction we are to take.Worry (self inflicted stress on the mind), pride, frustration, stress and lack of faith are only litmus tests to let a person know when they are depending on their own strength. So let us crucify this flesh daily, die to self, and experience total submission to God and I guarantee the Holy Spirit won't have any problems at all, continuing Kingdom work through you! Always remember according to John 15:7 If ye abide (remain, live, tarry, kept continually, sojourn ect.) in Him, and let His Word abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
